Estimating Bathroom Remodel Costs

San Antonio Bathroom Renovation Costs - Average Price to Renovate a Bathroom

As the seventh most populated city in the US and second in Texas, San Antonio has many homes always in need of renovation. It was the fastest growing city between 2000 and 2010, as well as the second fastest between 1990 and 2000, meaning that homes were in great demand from those entering into the city. Bathrooms in these homes needed to be renovated to the meet the demand of new homeowners, so contractors were called out often to make changes and create new bathrooms from the old designs. These contractors today still charge between $8,341 and $11,235 for their services, with an average cost of $9,788 paid by residents in San Antonio for a complete overhaul. People still flow into the city regularly to keep the population high, so bathrooms have to keep in top form.

Adding More Storage to San Antonio Bathrooms

Perhaps as a result of the population influx, bathrooms in San Antonio need more space for the people who use them. Depending on the size of the home, the bathroom might not have more storage than just a few cabinets or a shelf for storing medicine. To fix this problem, there are various ways contractors or homeowners tackle the need without compromising the space too much. For example homeowners can buy small storage containers that go underneath the sink or stack atop each other near a corner in the bathroom to store hair products, cleaning supplies and the like without taking up too much space. There are also standalone shelves that can be constructed and placed anywhere in a bathroom for storage space.

On a larger scale, contractors can come in and construct shelves that are either nailed to the wall or dug into the wall itself for storage space. These can be made from various materials like composite, wood or metal, depending on what suits the style of the room best. Their size will depend on where they’re built in the bathroom and how much they need to store on the part of the homeowner. Having them installed into the wall itself will mean some structural changes, but how much depends on how deeply into the wall they need to go. It will allow for more storage space without taking up the floor though, which could be optimal in small bathrooms.
